Obituary for Zelma Alice Voss

Brewster, Minnesota      Zelma Alice Voss, 95, was born on July 4, 1911, in Harris, Iowa.  She was the daughter of James Robert and Jesse Barkley Moles.  In 1927, Zelma was selected to represent Nobles County at the Minnesota State Fair for her bread baking.  Zelma married Carl Edward Voss on March 15, 1935, in Worthington, Minnesota.  She co-owned and operated the K & V Store in Brewster for many years.  Zelma was instrumental in organizing the Lorain Livewires 4-H group and served as their leader for a number of years.  She enjoyed antique collecting.  Zelma died on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the Lakeview Nursing Home in Heron Lake, Minnesota.     Zelma is survived by three sons, Robert (Beverly) Voss, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Charles Ned Voss, of Elroy, Wisconsin, and Jim (Kay) Voss, of Brewster, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on March 12, 1991, one daughter-in-law, Shirley, her parents, and one sister, Irma Anderson.     Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington with the Rev. Gordon J. Orde officiating. Zelma’s grandchildren will serve as casket bearers.  Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Worthington.Visitation will be from 10-11:00 am at the church.  Benson Funeral Home is coordinating the arrangements.
