Obituary for Wilma Mildred Molle Manken

Worthington, MN

     Wilma Mildred Molle Manken, 89, of Worthington, was born on September 3, 1921 in Garvin, MN. She was the daughter of William Gustav Molle and Clara Andrea Phil Molle. Wilma attended school in Tracy, MN. As a young woman, she was a cook at Tracy Hospital. Wilma married Norman F. Manken on December 16, 1943 in Tracy, MN. Together, Norman and Wilma owned and operated Manken Appliance until their retirement. Wilma enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. Wilma passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at her daughter and son-in-law’s residence in Wyoming, MN.
     Wilma is survived by three daughters, Clara Graham of Littleton, CO, Nancy (Gene) Boyer of Wyoming, MN, and Mary Manken of Colorado Springs, CO; one son, Norman Jr. (Vicki) Manken of Ogden, IA; thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Her husband, her parents and three granddaughters preceded her in death.
     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 1505 Dover St. in Worthington, MN, where Wilma had been a member for 65 years, with Pastor Tom Braun officiating. Wilma’s grandchildren, Paula NesSmith, Rachelle Scharping, Gene Boyer, Jr., Keri Olson, Sara Schmidt, Jeni Peterson, Lisa Boyer, Lauryn Manken-Taylor, Norman Manken III, Heather Manken, Jeremiah Manken, Jacob Manken, and Heidi Manken served as casket bearers. Burial will be in Hersey Cemetery near Brewster, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 4-7 pm at Benson Funeral Home, 1225 Ryan’s Road in Worthington, MN.
