William was born June 8, 1926 to George and Dagny (Clausen) Miller in Worthington, Minnesota. He lived on the family farm near Brewster until the family purchased the Hollywood Cabins near Lake Okabena in Worthington in the early 1930s. William attended Worthington High School until enlisting in the Army, where he was stationed in Korea and later in Iceland. He was discharged in 1954. In 2004, they moved to a home on Gull Lake near Tenstrike, Minnesota. Helen moved to the Grand Village care center in Grand Rapids in 2006 due to declining health, and William and son Vance moved to Grand Rapids until Helen’s passing in 2009, whereupon father and son returned to Gull Lake. He enjoyed bird watching and bird feeding as well as hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
