Obituary for Wanda Mae Trunnell

Worthington, MN

     After living 80 years in this world, Wanda Mae Trunnell passed away after a brief battle with cancer on December 12, 2009 at the Sunset Cottage in Worthington, MN.
     Wanda was born on January 27, 1929 in Sioux City, IA to Clemence and Verona Lundeen.
High school sweethearts, Emmet Trunnell and Wanda were married September 15, 1945 in Sibley, IA. They farmed in the Lake Park, IA, Worthington and Rushmore, MN areas for 40 years before moving to Worthington.
Wanda was a home health aide for several years and a custodian at the First United Methodist Church for 13½ years.
     Family meant everything to Wanda and she took great pride in her family. She traveled across the state to watch her children and grandchildren in church, school, 4-H and sporting events.
Wanda worked hard but she also enjoyed spending time with her “coffee” friends around Worthington and Lake Park.
     Wanda will be missed by her son, Jeff (Cheryl) Trunnell, Fort Dodge, IA; and five daughters, Pam (Tom) Strom, Brooten, MN; Barb (Lynn) Aggen, Harmony, MN; Sue (Scott) Rose, Worthington, MN; Michelle (Brian) Ling, Bigelow, MN; Jane (Matt) Wychor, Glyndon, MN; 18 grandchildren, Jodi (Scott) Chapple, Post Falls, ID; Todd (Karen) Strom, Kennedy, MN; Chris Strom, Brooten, MN; Andy (Suzanne) Strom, Glyndon, MN; Matthew (Jessica) Aggen, Harmony, MN; Mary (Ryan) Hangartner, Portland, OR; Michael (Vanessa) Aggen, St. Paul, MN; Stacy (Tim) Bickett, Worthington, MN; Sara (Bruce) Barber, Worthington, MN; Shane Rose, Worthington, MN; Jeff Ling, Bigelow, MN; Alex Ling, Bigelow, MN; John Wychor, Glyndon, MN; Mark Wychor, Glyndon, MN; Tom Wychor, Glyndon, MN; Jacob Trunnell, Fort Dodge, IA; Chad Trunnell, Fort Dodge, IA; Erin Trunnell, Fort Dodge, IA; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; one sister, Anita (Curtis) Kuehl, Lake Park, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; mother and father, and one grandson, Mark Aggen.
     Wanda’s visitation will be from 5-8 at the Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, MN on Monday, December 14, 2009. The memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by Rev. Gordon J. Orde. Wanda’s grandchildren will serve as bearers. A private burial will be at the Worthington Cemetery prior to the memorial service.
