Obituary for Vivian Erbes

Vivian Enger Erbes, age 95, the youngest of six children, was born on April 27, 1916 in Minneapolis, MN to Edward and Hannah (Larson) Enger. She graduated from
Worthington High School. After attending Minneapolis Business College she was employed in the Nobles County Extension Office for 6 ½ years. She and Clarence J. Erbes, Round Lake, MN were married on October 3, 1942.
     From 1949 until 1966 Vivian worked as Nobles County Deputy Clerk of Court. In 1966 she was elected to the position of Nobles County Clerk of Court a position she held until her retirement in 1980.
     Vivian was an active volunteer with Emanuel United Methodist Women, Red Cross, Worthington Hospital Auxiliary and the Business and Professional Women, who recognized her as Woman of the Year in 1977. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.
     Vivian died on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Sanford Hospital.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William, Arthur, Earle and Stanley, and sister Hazel (Mrs. Herman Doeden).
     She is survived by son Steven (Jo Ann), Apple Valley; Grandchildren: Dion (Robyn) New Market, Brent (Casey) Bozeman, Mt and Jenica (Chris) Spoor, Eagan; Six Great Grandchildren Blake and Natalie Boelter, Logan Erbes; Haley Krohn and Aidan Erbes and Ani Spoor and many nieces, nephews and family friends.
     A service will held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Emanuel United Methodist Church, 1400 4th Avenue, Worthington with Pastor Kathleen Brandt officiating. Burial will be at Worthington Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to donors choice or Sanford Hospice of Worthington.
