     Viola Ethel Bruxvoort, 84, was born on January 27, 1931, in Rushmore, MN, the daughter of Louis and Grace (Akkermann) Johnson. She grew up and received her education in Worthington, Reading, and Rushmore schools. Viola married Donald Bruxvoort on April 14, 1950. They lived in Slayton, MN for a few years as Donald worked for a Lumber Company. They moved to Worthington and Donald worked for the Ford Company until he passed away. Vi worked for Coast to Coast for 37 years until she started managing the Okabena Towers for many years. She retired when she was 80 and continued to reside at Okabena Towers until the day God decided to take her home to see her loved ones.
     Viola kept busy after her retirement with volunteering at the food shelf. She enjoyed playing Pinochle and coffee with her friends Ila and Joe. Viola loved to keep her mind active by playing Sudoku and watching the Twins and Vikings on TV. She also loved making up card games to play with her grandchildren.
     Viola’s strength and joy came from her love for her family and all the love that they returned. She taught her family and everyone she met of her love for God and the wealth you receive by loving and caring for others. She will be remembered for the love she gave and the joy and laughter she put in every person she met. Along with caring for her own children, Viola was a foster mom to several young ladies. Viola passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at her residence in Worthington, MN surrounded by her family.
     Viola will be deeply missed by her children, Vern (Dianne) Bruxvoort of Detroit Lakes, MN and Lin Hoffman of Alexandria, MN; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Michelle (Brett) Miller – Ashlee, Jared, and Kaylee of Alexandria, MN, Stephen (Mirm) Steele – Skyler and Aiden of California, Angie (Troy) Klassen – Emma of Windom, MN, Jason (Lauren) Bruxvoort of Montana, Teresa (Mike) Rivera – Caleb and Norah of Missouri; best friend, Ila Murphy and all of her friends.
     Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Solid Rock Assembly in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Scott Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
     Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Solid Rock Assembly in Worthington.
