Obituary for Vaughan Elaine Lewis

Worthington, MN

     Vaughan Elaine Lewis, 76, of Worthington, passed away on Sunday evening, October 4, 2009, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington.
     Vaughan was born on October 16, 1932, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of George and Mary (Henson) Lienau. She grew up on a farm near Rushmore, MN, and was active in 4-H activities. She graduated from Worthington High School and Worthington Junior College. After college, Vaughan married Kenneth Lewis of Adrian. She worked at Worthington National Bank, until they moved to Chicago in 1958. While there, she was employed by The Bank of Skokie, Illinois. They returned to Worthington after the birth of their son, where Kenneth worked for Soderholm Manufacturing Company and eventually they purchased the business. Vaughan served as a partner and office manager for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington.
     Vaughan is survived by two children, Thomas Lewis of Puyallup, WA, and Kari Lewis of Worthington, MN; three grandchildren, Kaleigh Lewis, Justin Lewis, and Kensey Lewis; one great grandchild, and one sister, Patricia (Budd) Duncan of Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and her parents.
     Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Larry Brixius officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Adrian Catholic Cemetery in Adrian, MN.

Gathering of family of friends will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
