Tucker Kenneth Marten, age 2 months & 17 days, passed away on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Tucker and his twin brother, Thielen were born on March 29th, 2019 in Rochester, MN to Eric and Marissa Marten. Tucker fought every day through his diagnosis of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He had his first open heart surgery at just 3 days old on April 1st, 2019. Tucker survived many complications and beat many odds throughout his short life. He challenged his doctors and made them itch their heads in wonder on what he was going to do next. Tucker got tired after 78 days of fighting for his life and he was called to the Good Lord on June 15th @ 4:03 p.m. Tucker was a strong warrior that taught us many great things. He loved being read Harry Potter by his Aunt Shanna. He loved moving his arms and legs after the doctors told us he wouldn't be able to. He loved being held and having his head caressed. Most importantly, Tucker loved being loved.
Tucker is survived by his parents, Eric and Marissa; his sisters, Mersaydes, Ramsey, and Eve; his twin brother, Thielen; his paternal grandparents, Susan (Paul) Koob and Terry Marten; his maternal grandparents, Judi Granstra and Jay (Laurie) Granstra; his maternal great-grandparents, Kenneth and JoAnn Meyer and Johnny Granstra; his paternal aunts and uncles, Holly and Jason Sieve, and Amber and Kevin Bergeson; his maternal aunts and uncles, Shanna and Andrew Altrichter, and Kenneth and Erika Granstra; his cousins, Presley, Madison, and Monroe Sieve, Veda, Elsie, and Sybil Bergeson, and Logan, Weston, Kaisley, and Remiley Granstra; his beloved pet puppies Baby, Fiona, and Penny.
Tucker is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Maynard Hanson, Norma Boots, Paul, and Alice Marten; his maternal grandparent, Kathleen (Kay) Granstra; and his older brother Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Mark Schreiber officiating. Burial will follow in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery next to his brother, Thomas. All are welcome and invited to attend.
