     Shirley Elaine Marcotte, age 89, was born on June 26, 1926, in Vermillion, SD, the daughter of Nels and Amanda (Hansen) Bensen. She graduated high school and attended two years of Business College. Shirley married Morris Leo Marcotte on August 14, 1949, in Vermillion. They lived in Vermillion, Howard, Gary, and Worthing, SD before settling in Worthington, MN in 1959. Shirley worked as an assistant director for The Achievement Center and then worked for the State Bank of Worthington, Norwest, and Wells Fargo. She enjoyed being involved in her church circle, wood refinishing, and spending time with her sisters. Shirley died on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Primrose Assisted Living in Sioux Falls, SD.
     Shirley is survived by her husband, Morris Marcotte of Luverne, MN; four children, Michael Marcotte of Rushmore, MN, Mark (Mary Jo) Marcotte of Sioux Falls, SD, Mitchell (Lisa Montagne) Marcotte of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mary (Scott) Oberloh of Worthington, MN; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Corinne, Jacob, Morgan, Mason, Maxwell, and Alyssa, and one great grandchild, Jaxton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and six brothers.
     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at American Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Bailey Fossum officiating. Shirley’s grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Burial will be in the Bergen Evergreen Cemetery in rural Vermillion, SD.
     Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
     Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
