Obituary for Sherri Sue Heimgartner

Worthington, MN

Sherri Sue (Christians) Heimgartner was born on March 29, 1968 to Johnny D. and Eileen Christians. Sherri joined our heavenly father on April 25, 2015, at the age of 47. She grew up on the family farm on the Stateline between Rushmore, MN and Little Rock, IA. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1986, and attended a year of Clerical schooling in Emmetsburg, IA.

Sherri started working at Sathers Candy Company in Round Lake. She initially worked in the packaging department, where she met Stephen. Sherri continued to work at Sathers in clerical and accounting departments. Sherri was currently working for both Culligan and Purnet in Worthington; she often spoke fondly of coworkers and friends that she made at her work.

Sherri and Stephen Heimgartner were united in marriage on August 25, 1990, and were looking forward to celebrating their upcoming anniversary of twenty five years. They lived in the country south of Rushmore for several years before moving to their acreage between Round Lake and Worthington. Sherri and Stephen were blessed with a wonderful son, Austin. Sherri had many special traditions that she shared with Austin and Stephen that will remain as many cherished memories during her absence. Sherri always enjoyed attending events that Austin was involved in where he could express his enjoyment of music and song. She was a quiet and thoughtful person that always did so much for those around her. Sherri had such a warm inviting smile that always made others comfortable. Sherri loved spending time with all of her siblings, in-laws, and extended family and friends. Austin and Stephen will have special memories of times with Sherri on the motorcycle, in the boat, and at Twins games.

Sherri leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Stephen and son Austin of Worthington; her brother John S. Christians, of Rushmore, sister Denise (Jeff) Lynn of Lismore and sister Shawna Christians of Adrian. Others left to cherish her memories are her many nephews and nieces, as well as Stephen’s siblings and their families.

Sherri was preceded in death by her parents Johnny D. and Eileen (Spieker) Christians, and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, IA.

Visitation, with family present, will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
