Obituary for Sandi Fay Walker

Sioux Falls, SD

      Sandi Fay Walker, age 66, was born on July 20, 1946, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Harold and Blanche (Schlarbaum) Heath. Growing up, her family lived in Round Lake, MN. Sandi met her first husband Gary Wibben, where they resided in the rural area of southwest MN, and had four daughters. In 1976, Sandi and her daughters moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she then met her husband of 35 1/2 years, Stanley Martin Walker, JR. They were married September 3, 1977, in Sioux Falls, SD. They lived in Minneapolis, MN for a while and then moved to Santa Rosa, CA, where they lived for 10 years, then moved back to Lismore, MN, where they resided for 22 years. Her journey ended in Sioux Falls, SD, on Monday, June 10, 2013, at 2:13 p.m., at Avera McKennan Hospital.
      Sandi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sandi enjoyed writing, painting, crafting and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Sandi was a people person and enjoyed engaging you in a good conversation. She loved her work as an administrative assistant for Anthony Schools and her job at HSI working with handicapped children.
      Sandi is survived by her husband, Stanley Walker of Sioux Falls, SD; her four daughters, Shelli (Jordan) Rosen of Coarsegold, CA, Tammi Kremin of Lismore, MN, Amy (Clayton) Huisman of Rock Rapids, IA, and Melissa (Jason) Tuin of Bigelow, MN; two sisters, Mary Peterson of New Mexico and Jan Moore of northern MN; ten grandchildren, Ashley and Hope Wibben, Paige and Trace Kremin, Arianna Coleman, Ariana and Madison Rosen, Nicolas, Clifford and Jacob Huisman, and Zoe Tuin; one great granddaughter, Autum Biffer, and her number one dog, Moses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Blanche Heath, her sister, Nancy Mastbergen; her grandparents, Edwin and Elizabeth Schlarbaum, and our family dog, Clara.
      Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Matt Miller officiating. Casket bearers will be Joseph Walker, Jon Walker, Rodney Mastbergen, Dennis Mastbergen, Michael Mastbergen, and Jason Tuin. Honorary bearers will be Clayton Huisman and Jeff Mastbergen. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
