Obituary for Rodney "Abber" Allen Adams

Rushmore, Minnesota      Rodney “Abber” Allen Adams, 64, was born on January 27, 1943, in Adrian, Minnesota, the son of Edward and Helen Frye Adams.  He graduated from Worthington High School in 1961.  After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served for three years, some of which was spent in Germany.  Rodney married Barbara Hawbecker on June 25, 1966, in Holland, Minnesota.  He worked for Swift in Worthington for 37 years, retiring in 2001.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin collecting, and camping.  Rodney died on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.     Rodney is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Rushmore, Minnesota; three children, Sheila (Tim) Groenewold, of Hartford, South Dakota, along with their children, Brittney and Katelynn, Michele Adams Fleming, of Hartford, South Dakota, along with her son, Tyler, and Daniel (Carrie) Adams, of Worthington, Minnesota, along with their children, Olivia and Steven; his mother, Helen Adams, of Worthington; one brother, Stanley (Pudge) Adams, of Worthington, and two sisters, Shirley (Doyle) Vis, of Rushmore, and Carol (Gary) Kunerth, of Worthington.  He was preceded in death by his father.     Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore, Minnesota, with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating.Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
