Obituary for Robin Glen Tow

Robin Glen Tow, age 65, died Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home in Andover, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 a.m. A graveside burial will be held following the service.
Rob was born on June 25, 1955 in Worthington, MN to Richard and Barbara (Tripp) Tow. His father died unexpectedly when Rob was 7 years old; Barbara married Paul Hagen in 1964. Rob grew up in Worthington, attended local schools, and graduated in 1973. Rob went on to attend Minnesota West, South Dakota State University and Brown Institute. He spent most of his career as a systems analyst and computer programmer in the metropolitan area of Minneapolis. Rob was an intelligent man with a genius level IQ of 144 and qualified as a member of Mensa. Rob had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid supporter of the National Rifle Association and held a vast gun collection. He enjoyed shooting and was a member of several clubs throughout his years. He was also a big supporter of the Republican Party. His love for trains had him train chasing and photographing them many weekends. He built an impressive HO scale train layout in his basement with his good friend Greg Marx. Rob was also a huge fan of Formula 1 and Indy Car Racing. Rob enjoyed reading books and magazines about all of his hobbies and interests.
Rob was a true patriot of the United States of America. His personal business card showed his admiration for the American soldier and stated, “Freedom is not free. Please remember to thank our veterans for yours.”
Rob is survived by his brothers Dan (Paula) Tow of Independence, KS, and Bryan (Sue) Hagen of Worthington, MN. Rob was very proud of and adored his nephews Travis and Trevor Tow, Turner and Carson Hagen, and niece Lauren Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Leesa Riordan.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
