Obituary for Robert Lee Damm

Robert Lee Damm, age 85, of Worthington died Friday, October 23, 2015 
 at home surrounded by family. Robert was born on January 3, 1930 in
 Breda, Iowa the son of Lawrence and Esther (Snyder) Damm. At the age
 of five, he moved with his family to a farm south of Okabena. Robert
 attended grades 1-12 in Okabena where he graduated in 1947. He was
 united in marriage with Catherine O'Brien on October 14, 1950 at St.
 Mary's Catholic Church in Worthington. Robert farmed with his father
 Lawrence and his brother Howard for 43 years until retirement in 1993.
 Robert and Catherine spent 20 winters in Texas. He and Catherine also
 enjoyed summer weekends with their family at Lake Okoboji. Robert was
 an avid fan of Minnesota sports teams. Spending time with his
 grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him special joy. He was
 a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster.
    He is survived by his wife Catherine, five daughters; Linda (Gordon) Smith,
 Rochester; Theresa Knigge, Mankato; Mary (Tim) Collin, North St. Paul;
 Nancy (Bob) Springman, Worthington; Julie (Joel) Eidem, Wayzata;
 brother and sister-in- law Beverly and Howard Damm; sister Mary
 Raumbaugh; brother-in-law Vincent O'Brien; sister-in law Cecelia
 Sokolski ; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces,
 nephews and cousins.
    Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, October 27 at 11:00 am at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster with Father Patrick Arens officiating.
Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am at the church.
The family prefers memorials to Sanford Hospice WWJ or The American Heart Association.
