Worthington, MN


      Robert “Biff” Ervin Nutt, 94, was born on June 11, 1920, in East Chain, MN, the son of Alfred and Zelma (Leffingwell) Nutt. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1939 and attended Worthington Community College from 1939 to 1941. Biff married Naomi “Babe” Pauline Schaefer on April 24, 1942, in Seattle, Washington. He served in the Army Air Force from September 1941, to October 1945, and was stationed at Seattle, Washington, New Guinea, and the Philippines. He then returned to Worthington and was employed by the Employment Office from 1945 to 1948, the City of Worthington Electric Department from 1948 to 1952, and as manager of the Worthington Municipal Liquor Store from 1952 until his retirement in 1981. Biff died on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN.

      Biff is survived by three children: Dr. Roger (Elizabeth) Nutt of Dewey, AZ, James (Sandie) Nutt of Mansfield, TX, and Judith (Dale) Peterburs of Roseville, MN; seven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Babe in 2010, eight brothers and four sisters.

      Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with memorial services to follow  at 1:30 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.  Private family burial will be held prior to the services.
