Worthington, MN

     Reuben John Lieser, 79, was born on December 14, 1931, in Greenwald, MN, the son of Alphonse and Cecelia (Woeste) Lieser. He served in the United States Army from December of 1951 to November of 1953. Reuben married Martha Caspers on June 25, 1955, in Clara City, MN. He worked for the Daily Globe and the Printers in Worthington for over 40 years. After his retirement, he worked in the meat department at Hy-Vee and worked part-time as a bartender at the Worthington American Legion. Reuben was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and the Veteran’s Drum & Bugle Corps. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan and enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling, golf, and playing practical jokes with the best. Reuben died on Friday, April 15, 2011, at his residence in St. Cloud, MN.
     Reuben is survived by his wife, Martha of Worthington, MN; four children, Cyndi (Rick) Morrison of Brewster, MN, Tim (Judy) Lieser of Cold Spring, MN, Deb (Randy) Bruns of Worthington, MN, and Mark (Jill) Lieser of Sauk Rapids, MN; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecelia and Alphonse Lieser.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Larry Brixius and Father Jim Callahan officiating. Casket bearers will be Travis Morrison, Matthew Lieser, Ryan Lieser, Joshua Morrison, Eric Morrison, and Nicole Lieser. Honorary bearers will be Megan Lieser, Michael Lieser, Devin Lieser, Derek Lieser, Emily Lieser, and Nathan Lieser. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN.
