Obituary for Randahl Leo Grimmius

Worthington, Minnesota

     Randahl Leo Grimmius, 57, was born on September 8, 1952, in Worthington, MN, the son of Leo and Opal (Nystrom) Grimmius. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1971. Randy served in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was previously married to Judy Winter, Lori Mix, and Jannelle VanderGrift Kielblock. Randy was employed as the Plant Maintenance Engineer for Minnesota West Worthington Campus for 22 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching car racing. Randy died on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Sanford Regional Hospital in Worthington, MN.
     Randy is survived by his children, Tony Grimmius and special friend, Christy Von Holtum and children, Hailey, Kasey, Alex, and Eli of Worthington, MN, and Eric Grimmius and special friend, Sheri Fisher and daughter, MacKenzie of Morristown, MN; his siblings, LeAnn Grimmius Mulder of Wilmont, MN, Kurt and Lana Grimmius of Dundee, MN, Craig and Carolyn Grimmius of Brandon, SD, and Jeff Grimmius of Sioux City, IA, and step children, Chris Kielblock, Pat Nelson, and Shannon Kielblock. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Judy.
     Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Tom Braun officiating. Casket bearers will be Nate Grimmius, Ryan Grimmius, Lance Mulder, Matt Grimmius, Bryant Grimmius, and Chris Grimmius. Honorary bearer will be Owen Mulder. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
