Obituary for Nettie May Anderson

Worthington, MN

      Nettie May Anderson, age 89, was born on May 22, 1926, in Normangee, TX, the daughter of Ondis and Sophia (Parker) Lawson. She attended Flynn Texas Public School and graduated in 1942. She was valedictorian of her class. She moved to Bryan, TX and worked at Aggieland Pharmacy in College Station. Nettie married Clarence Anderson on June 6, 1948, in Bryan, TX. They moved to Worthington in 1948. They were blessed with four children. She was a homemaker until her children were older. She worked for Sather’s for 15 years. Nettie moved to Tracy in 2002 and lived the last two years at Prairie View Senior Living Center. Nettie enjoyed traveling to see her family. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Circles. Nettie passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

      Nettie is survived by her sons, Harry (Rebecca) of Tulsa, OK and Ron of Hastings, NE; daughter-in-law, Becky Anderson of Danville, IL; daughter, Shauna of Tracy, MN; one brother, William (Myrtle) of Bryan, TX; sisters, Rosie Stravelemos of Houston, TX, and Evelyn Marsh of College Station, TX; 31 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; her son, Terry in 2014; her sister, Hattie; her brother, James, and her parents.

      Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Richard Ricker officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

      Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
