Obituary for Myron Ray Adolph

Myron R. Adolph

01/02/1937 ~ 01/22/2017

Myron R. Adolph, 80, of Spotsylvania County, formerly of Worthington, MN, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

Myron grew up in rural Minnesota where he met and married Janet (Strohm) Adolph and where he was a farmer for 45 years until his retirement. During those years he also developed unique woodworking skills that provided great enjoyment, as well as the foundation for a custom framing business he established and operated. In 2012, they relocated to Virginia to be near family.

Relationships were also a vital part of Myron’s life. Whether fond friendships won through his gentleness and dry sense of humor, the abundant love of family, or his devotion to His Savior, Jesus Christ, he valued them all. His faith led him to active participation in the church all his life, most recently at Spotswood Baptist, Fredericksburg. His desire to serve also led him to take numerous trips, volunteering for various Christian organizations in the U.S. and abroad.

Myron will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Janet R. Adolph of Fredericksburg; daughters Renae Thompson (Gary) of Spotsylvania and Carolyn McNicol (Jeff) of Beaver, PA; son David Adolph (Erika) of Spencer, IA; brothers Lyle Adolph of Worthington, MN and Willis Adolph (Marvella) of Worthington, MN; sister Carol Hanna (Terry) of Liberty, MO; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at the Lakeside Baptist Church in Worthington, MN. All are welcome. Burial was held prior in the Elk Brethren Cemetery in Reading, MN.
