Michael “Mick” Lee Anderson, age 73, was born on August 4, 1943, in Jackson, MN, the son of Russell Anderson and Ethel Mae Pigman. He grew up in the Heron Lake area. Mick married Carla Meyer on June 21, 1974, in Worthington, MN.
Mick was a union bricklayer and owned his own construction company in later years. He enjoyed hunting ducks, fishing, and camping. Mick loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mick died on Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center in Worthington, MN.
Mick is survived by his wife, Carla Meyer Anderson of Brewster, MN; two sons, Lee (Judy) Anderson of Heron Lake, MN and Rob Anderson of Worthington, MN; two daughters, Kari Volk (Todd Werner) and Cindy Brandt of Camp Douglas, WI; son-in-law, Greg Schmidt of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; niece, Kathy Amrein, and nephew, Jeff Dalin of Forest Grove, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kay; son-in-law, Steve Brandt; brother, Bob, and sister, Arliss.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Brewster, MN, with Pastor Robert Bartlett officiating. Mick’s grandchildren, Ray Anderson, James Anderson Sam Anderson, Jesse Volk, Brooke Volk, Tara Corley, Derek Volk, Katie King, and Mason Brandt will serve as honorary bearers. Inurnment will be in at the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Brewster, MN.
