Obituary for Merrill O. Buttrick

Merrill O. Buttrick, 89 was born January 6, 1920 in Crosby, MN the son of Bruce and Myrtle (Tuttle) Buttrick.  He married Harriet (Gauss) Osborne in Burlington, Iowa on December 18, 1951.  He spent the first two years of his marriage in the Army stationed in Korea.  After his discharge he returned home and worked on farms which he loved. Merrill and Harriet moved to Worthington where he started working for Campbell Soup Company where he worked for twenty years. He was a member of the Senior Center in Rushmore, MN and he volunteered at the Pioneer Village in Worthington. Merrill died on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington.
    He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Harriet, three sons David Osborne of Burlington, Iowa,  Philip (Lyn) Osborne of Zellwood, Florida, and Michael Buttrick of Worthington; two daughters, Joan (Ron) Fredericksen of Mountain Lake, Minnesota and Lori (Paul) Anderson of Rapid City, South Dakota.  He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.  He is preceded in death by one son Paul, one daughter Judy Hudson, two grandchildren Keven and Bruce Fredericksen, one great granddaughter Danielle, daughter in law Jean Osborne, and parents.
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington with Rev. James Krapf officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Rest Cemetery rural Rushmore, MN.  Casket bearers will be Merrill’s grandchildren.
    Visitation will be from 9;30-10:30 am on Wednesday at the church.
