Obituary for Marvin Dale Johnson

Brewster, Minnesota Marvin Dale Johnson, 55, died on Monday morning, April 3, 2006, at the Worthington Regional Hospital. He was born on May 11, 1950, the fourth son of Mary (Visker) and John Johnson of Little Rock, Iowa. His family later moved to Rushmore Minnesota, where they farmed. Marvin attended school in Lismore and Adrian. Marvin ended his schooling in 1967 and worked on the family farm. Marvin’s family moved to Brewster, Minnesota after the death of his father in 1968. Marvin was employed as a farm hand, truck driver, and general handyman in the Brewster area. Due to rapidly failing health, Marvin moved to Prairie House in January of 2006, moving to South Shore Care Center in February. Marvin is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Kay Johnson of Port Royal, Virginia; his sister, Jeannette Nelson, of Little Rock, Iowa; his brothers, Richard (Carol) Johnson, of Brewster, Elmer Johnson, of Worthington, Jim Johnson, of Brewster, Paul Johnson, of Round Lake, LeeRoy (Corinne) Johnson, of Worthington, and Robert (Lynette) Johnson, of Pipestone, and ten nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brothers, Donald and John, and his brother-in-law, George Nelson. Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster, Minnesota, with the Rev. David McDonald officiating. Casket bearers will be Don Habeck, Mike McCarvel, Doug Bauman, Bill Brunk, Wally Cooper, and Larry Clausen. Burial will be held in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
