Obituary for Marvin A. Alberts

Rushmore, MN

     Marvin Albert Alberts, age 82, was born on March 29, 1930 in Rushmore, MN, the son of George & Bertha (Rients) Alberts. Marvin was united in marriage with Darleen Mable Engelkes on February 21, 1950, in Rushmore, MN. They settled in Nobles County where they worked the family farm and managed Albert’s Trucking. They were members of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Rushmore for 50 plus years.
     Marvin and Darleen’s favorite past times were to join in Polka dancing, camping with their children, and participating in church functions. Marvin died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his residence near Rushmore, MN.
     Marvin is survived by his wife, Darleen of Rushmore, MN; five sons: Larry (Nancy) Alberts and their children, Crystal (Mike Flynn) Alberts and Michael (Micki) Alberts and son, Payton, Eugene (Carolyn) Alberts and their children, Jason Franz and Kayse (Walker) Burgess and sons, Camden and Abel, Brian Alberts and his daughter, Missy and daughter, Mia, Dave (Karen) Alberts and their son, Justin (Amy) Alberts and daughter, Alexandria, and Gary (Tammy Reimers) Alberts, and son-in-law, Gary (Belynda) Metz and their daughter, Mariah and son, Connor.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Bertha; brother, Arnold; sister, Marian Jacobs; and daughter, Cindy Metz.
     Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Rushmore, MN, with Rev. Calvin Hsu officiating. Casket bearers will be Gary, Gary, Dave, Jason, Michael, and Justin. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Presbyterian Cemetery in Rushmore, MN.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
