Marjorie Ann (nee Wolf) Ruesch was born on December 26, 1945 in Fulda, MN to Fred and Elizabeth (Bott) Wolf. She was raised on a farm north of Fulda. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fulda. She attended St Paul Lutheran grade school and graduated from Fulda High School in 1963. She then attended Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska where she earned her teaching degree.
She met Leonard while playing softball in Walther League but first spent one year teaching in Bishop, Texas and surviving Hurricane Buelah She then returned to Minnesota and married Leonard on September 13, 1969. Marge helped on the farm, tending to the chickens and helping Leonard farm. To this union came 4 children. She volunteered at her church, teaching release time and VBS and participating in LWML. As well she was an active adult volunteer with Nobles County 4-H. She worked at Textile Treasures and Head Start.
She loved her garden and as the years went on she planted more flowers then vegetables. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her cherry rolls and pecan pie. She was always up for a game of cards playing 500. She was not afraid to show her love for Jesus and loved to spread the Good News!
Marge was admitted to Crossroads Care Center in January 2021. She went to her heavenly home on May 11, 2021.
Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Leonard. Children, spouses and grandchildren, Deron, Bonnie, Tristen and Ashton, Crooks, SD, Gina, Ed Usalis and Jack, Lino Lakes, MN, and Justin, Laura, Crosby and Chloe, Watertown, SD. Sisters, Mary & Rev Gerald Menk, Grays Lake, IL, Myrna & Chuck Hammond, Sioux Falls, Karla & Kevin Evers, Dundee. Brother, Carl & Jennie Sochon Wolf, Chicago and brother-in-law, Harlan Boda, Greeley, CO. Sister-in-laws Leola & Louis Remmers and Norma & Leonard Eigenberg, both of Heron Lake. Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Robert and Margaret Ruesch, daughter Andrea, sister Norma Boda, in-laws Larry and Peg Ruesch, Lavonne and Vince Perrott.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Mark Schreiber officiating. Pallbearers will be Tristen Ruesch, Ashton Ruesch, Jack Usalis, Crosby Ruesch, Mark Ruesch, and Kris Evers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marge’s nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to LWML or St. Matthew Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund in lieu of flowers.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
