Obituary for Marilyn Ann Vis

Marilyn Vis, age 81, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, on the farm she worked alongside the love of her life, Larry. She handled the semi and grain cart, as good as the next. Marilyn was born on September 29, 1939 to George and Agnes (Roder) Shirkey in Worthington. On January 3, 1959, she married Larry Vis and together they enjoyed classic cars, with a show or a leisure drive. She was a kind, patient soul, who lovingly raised 7 girls and 1 boy. She enjoyed her family and her faith. Blessed be her memory.
Marilyn is survived by children, Gina (Randy) Michelson; Brenda (Monte) Tolsma; Kim (Scott) Neeb; Mark Vis; Jackie (Doyle) Bryngelson; Cherry (Scot) Schnoor; 12 grandkids and 8 great-grandkids. Marilyn is also survived by sister, Pat (Leo) Bohn and brother, Jeff (Sherry) Shirkey.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; daughters, Pam Vis and Teresa Bashor; sister, Judy Ouellette, and brothers, Tim and George Shirkey.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Jim Callahan officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
There will be a gathering for family and friends after the burial.
