Obituary for Marilee McCausland

Worthington, Minnesota      Marilee Algren McCausland, 72, was born on March 14, 1935, in Worthington, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Harry and Ell Vera Orr Algren.  Her family lived in Brewster, Minnesota, where they were active in farming.  On June 12, 1955, Marilee married Howard McCausland.  They lived in Lake Park, Iowa, until 1967, when they moved to Brewster.  Marilee was employed by the Brewster Public School District for 29 years.  In May of 2002 upon her retirement, they moved to Worthington.  Marilee enjoyed quilting, knitting, playing cards with friends, and seeing her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed sharing recipes, cooking, and baking.  Marilee was a member of the order of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron.  She was also a member of the Lady Elks, Red Hats, and the Brewster Legion Auxiliary.  In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Howard to Pharr, Texas, where they enjoyed their winter home.  Marilee died on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.     Marilee is survived by her husband, Howard, of Worthington; two children, Debra (Bob) Horne, of Fulda, Minnesota, and Barbara (Mark) Opsal, of Farmington, Minnesota, and four grandchildren, Jason and Jeffrey Horne, and Emily and Matthew Cullen.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ell Vera Algren.     Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church, 1200 4th Avenue in Worthington, Minnesota, with the Rev. Richard Ricker officiating.  Casket bearers will be Jason Horne, Jeff Horne, Matt Cullen, and Emily Cullen.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
