Obituary for Marie Edna Ross

Worthington, Minnesota     Marie Edna Ross, 83, was born on December 15, 1922, in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She was the daughter of James and Grace Echeverria Baldwin.  Marie married Lyle Ross on March 7, 1941.  After their marriage, they lived in Little Rock and Hubbard, Iowa, for a time.  They then lived in Round Lake, Minnesota, before moving to Worthington, Minnesota.  She was a member of the Solid Rock Assembly Church in Worthington.  Marie died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.     Marie is survived by one daughter, Sheila (Dave) Biekert, of Longmont, Colorado; two sons, Lyle (Brenda) Ross, of Crystal Lake, Iowa, and Lowell (Charlotte) Ross, of Hampton, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Connie Ross, Larry Ross, Tammy Nitcher, Brent Biekert, Mitchell Biekert, Gregory Biekert, Kendra Reising, Micah Ross, and Ben Ross; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson, and four sisters, Mireya Koning, of Worthington, Minnesota, Nora Vance, of Round Lake, Minnesota, Olga Jacobsen, of Round Lake, Minnesota, and Nellie Meineke, of Charles City, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle E. Ross, Sr., her parents, and one sister, Bessie Sommerfield.     Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, Minnesota, with the Rev. Scott Peterson officiating.  Burial of her cremains will be in Hampton, Iowa, at a later date.Family prefers memorials to the Solid Rock Assembly Church in Worthington, MN.
