Obituary for Marguerite Catherine Ruckelshausen

Worthington, Minnesota      Marguerite Catherine Ruckelshausen, age 96, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Crossroads Care Center, Worthington, MN.  Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Brewster, MN.  Burial will be in the Hersey Cemetery, Brewster. Visitation will be Thursday, 2-8 with family present 6-8 at the Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, MN.     Marguerite was born May 10, 1911, in Brewster, MN, to Daniel and Madie (Dierks) McNab.  She attended Brewster School, graduating in 1929 and attended Normal College in Worthington for her teaching certificate.  She taught 5 years in rural schools in the Brewster area. She was active in 4-H, won a bread baking championship in Nobles County and was in the top 10 at the Minnesota State Fair. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Brewster, teaching Sunday school for many years.  On October 7, 1935, she married Albert Ruckelshausen in Jackson, MN.  They retired in 1978, continued to live on the farm spending 34 winters in Arizona.  They moved to The Meadows in Worthington, September 2005.  They celebrated 72 wonderful years of married bliss, October 7, 2007.  Some of her hobbies were fishing, gardening and raising poultry, especially ducks, geese and banty chickens.  She loved playing cards and playing in the Brewster Humdinger Kitchen Band.  She was an active member of the Brewster Senior Citizens Center.     Marguerite is survived by her spouse, Albert, a son, Robert (Janice) Ruckelshausen, of Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter, Darlene Kleine, of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Daniel (Jennifer) Ruckelshausen, Sara (Paul) DeSmith, Teresa Ruckelshausen, Laura (Mark) Deverse, Susan Dahl (friend, Ron Headley), Robin (John) Eich, and Brenda (Marc) Hatch.  Also, surviving are 8 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Jessie Rossow; sister-in-law, Hazel (Roland) McNab,  2 brothers, Harold (Dolly) McNab and Ralph (Alice) McNab.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant sons, Douglas and David, and brother, Roland McNab.     Her memories will be cherished.
