Obituary for Lyle Jerome Adolph

Lyle Jerome Adolph, age 92, was born on October 23, 1927, in Worthington, MN, the son of Buell and Ethelyn (Strom) Adolph. He was raised on the family farm north of Worthington. Lyle attended country school in rural Worthington and graduated from Worthington High School. After high school, he worked at Morrell’s Packing House in Sioux Falls, SD and Boote’s Produce in Worthington. Lyle was united in marriage to his loving wife Myrtle (Nelson) on July 6, 1950, in Barnum, MN.
Lyle worked as a farm hand before building their family home in rural Worthington. While farming he was a seed corn dealer for many years. He was an active member of the National Farmer’s Organization, Gideon’s and served on many committees at the Church of the Brethren, where he was a life long member. He showed a heart for helping others through his volunteering at the Nobles County Fair and the “Home of Hope” in Worthington. Lyle went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2020, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN.
Lyle is survived by his four children, Gale (Pearl Seery) Adolph of Odessa, MN, Linda Sanchez of Worthington, MN, Eldon (Michelle) Adolph of New Market, MN, and Krista (Dale) Hanson of Valley Springs, SD; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Willis (Marvella) Adolph; sister, Carol Hanna;, and sisters-in-law, Viola Lursen and Janet Adolph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buell and Ethelyn (Strom) Adolph; brothers, Alfred Adolph and Myron Adolph; brothers-in-law, Carl Patterson, Terry Hanna, and Clarence Lursen, and sisters-in-law, Marian Patterson, Dorothy Adolph, and Margaret Nelson.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., at Elk Brethren Cemetery near Reading, MN.
Due to covid-19, facemasks are required. Feel free to bring lawn chairs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to The Heifer Project, Gideons, or Sunset Hospice Cottage.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
