Obituary for Louis Carl Riss

Worthington, MN

Louis Carl Riss, age 77, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington, MN.
Louie was born on September 9, 1940, in Worthington, MN, the son of Henry Samuel and Margaret Eva (McQuiston) Riss. He grew up in Worthington and graduated from Worthington High School in 1958.
Louie had an incredible sense of humor. He was loving and cared about those close to him. Louie’s family and friends were important to him. He embraced life with a positive outlook despite the challenges he faced due to his disability.
Louie lived most of his adult life with his good friends, Frank and Carole Hansen, in Golden Valley, MN. Louie looked forward to spending time at their lake cabin in northern Minnesota. In 2009, he returned to Worthington and had been a resident at South Shore Care Center until the present.
Louie is survived by his siblings, Avis Riss, Alice Arnold and James Riss; in-laws, Jacqueline Riss, Viola Riss, Norma Riss, Susan Riss and Gerald Zahorsky, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Irene Thom, Clarence Riss, Mary Ruth Riss, Raymond Riss, Charles Riss, Donna Fleming, Arthur Riss and Louie’s twin, Louise Zahorsky; in-laws, Robert Thom, Ross Arnold, Tom Fleming and Anne (Riss) Elissondo; as well as his good friends, Frank and Carole Hansen, and many other relatives.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
