Obituary for Lewis Eugene Grotjohn

Reading, Minnesota 
     Lewis Eugene Grotjohn, 75, was born on July 17, 1933, in Adrian, MN, the son of John and Gladys (Robey) Grotjohn. He grew up in the rural Worthington area. Lewis served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, being stationed in Germany. Lewis married Patricia Jane Lubben, of Round Lake, MN, on June 7, 1959, in Round Lake. They resided in rural Worthington for several years and then moved to the Reading area to raise their three children. Lewis enjoyed farming, camping, fishing, and spending time with his five grandchildren and great grandson. Lewis died on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Royal C. Johnson Veteran’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
     Lewis is survived by his wife, Patricia of Reading, MN; three children, Timothy (Carolyn Randall) Grotjohn along with their son, Alexander of Okemos, MI, Susan (Cabell) Nixon of Nisswa, MN, along with daughters, Heidi of Ellsworth, IA, and Erica and her son, Quinten of Brainerd, MN, and Mark (Carolyn) Grotjohn along with their sons, Dawson and Parker of Stewartville, MN.
     Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with the Rev. Wayne Krohe officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Baker, Robert Hartz Jr., Justin Easterday, Derek Kocak, Mike Harberts, and Paul Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Todd Lubben. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN and on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the church.
