Obituary for Lester L. Clark

Worthington, Minnesota      Lester L. Clark passed away Friday, August 3, 2007 at Sunset Hospice Cottage.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Worthington, with Pastor Doug Knudtson officiating.  Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.     Lester was born on July 13, 1910 to Lewis W. and Etta Mae Clark in Mason City, Iowa.  The family moved to Worthington several years later.  Lester attended Elementary and High School in Worthington.  He was married to Sarah Olson on May 21, 1932.  During his early years he was employed by Boote Hatcheries and Locker Plant.  He remained a close and loyal friend of Jack Boote until Boote’s death.  Later, he founded his own company, C & M Animal Feeding Compound. During his later years he found great enjoyment and satisfaction as an employee of Bedford Industries.  He often said he considered it a privilege to work for Bob Ludlow.     His greatest accomplishments were his three children, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.  He loved fishing, bird watching, outdoor activities, and time spent with his family.  He was filled with a deep faith in God and a sense of purpose and integrity.  His zest for life and his wonderful sense of humor will be missed but his wisdom and love of life will be passed on through generations.  Sarah, his loving wife of 71 years, his parents, four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.  He is survived by a son LeRoy of Worthington, daughters Gail Prieb of Lenexa, Kansas and Jan Nestingen of Sabetha, Kansas as well as grandchildren Greg Prieb, Kim Prieb and Pam Reed of Overland Park, Kansas, Tom Tangen of North Hollywood, California, John Tangen of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Sue Tangen of Sabetha, Kansas.  Great grandchildren include Marti and Greg Prieb II, Sarah, Ashley and Alexis Lamb, Nicole and Connor Reed, and Alexandra and Nicholas Tangen.  He is also survived by one brother, Charlie Clark of Salem, Oregon, and three sisters, Velma Strong of Salem, Oregon, Alyce Konold of Sioux City, Nebraska, and Etta Mae Antee of Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
