Obituary for Leroy Cecil Hoefker

Worthington, MN

Leroy Cecil Hoefker, age 84, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his home in Worthington, MN.
Leroy was born on April 1, 1933, in Jackson County, MN, the son of Herman C. Hoefker and Esther R. (Volz) Hoefker. He graduated in 1951 from Okabena High School. Leroy was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955, then served in the Army reserves for another 5 years.
Leroy was united in marriage to Carole Hartman on June 20, 1954, in Worthington. They had four children, Dawn, Kelly, Perry, and Troy. Leroy especially enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies were: fishing, hunting, woodworking, and having coffee with his buddies. Leroy was always very helpful, mowing or snow blowing for his neighbors and helping anyone who needed him.
Leroy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carole of Worthington, MN; four children, Dawn Negrete (Huston Everett) of Worthington, MN, Kelly Hoefker (Susan Yonts Andres) of Lake Benton, MN, Perry Hoefker (Teresa) of Clear Lake, IA, and Troy Hoefker (Lori) of Wayzata, MN; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, and his sister, Florene Baldwin (Donald) of Rake, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Private family committal service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Worthington Cemetery, with Pastor Doug White officiating.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
