Obituary for Leon Dean Mitchell

On Friday, December 21, 2018, Leon (Mitch) Dean Mitchell passed away at the age of 74 years old. Leon was born July 13, 1944, to Earl and Edna (Schellenberg) Mitchell. He married the love of his life Patti (Jay) on August 22, 1964 and for the next 54 years they shared their life together. They resided in Worthington until 2010 when they moved to Fulda, MN. They raised two children, a daughter Tami and a son Thomas. Leon loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, dancing, a run to the casino, a Budweiser and his grandchildren/great grandchildren. Not necessarily in this order! Leon held several occupations; farming, trucking, Montgomery Wards, Heles Supply, Westburne Supply, Ferguson Plumbing and a 20 year volunteer fireman. After retiring from the fire department and Ferguson, he enjoyed spending time with his family traveling.
Leon is survived by his devoted wife, Patti of Fulda, MN; daughter, Tami (fiancé Lance Rogers) of Wilmont, MN; son, Thomas (wife Jessica) of Fulda, MN; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother; six sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Elks Lodge in Worthington, MN.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
