Obituary for Lenor June Kilker

Worthington, MN

      Lenor June Kilker was born to Willard and Silvy (Bell) Craun on March 1, 1921 at the Round Barn place in Ewington Township, Jackson County, Round Lake, Minnesota. The family moved several times before making their home near Worthington. Lenor attended Ewington Consolidated School, near Round Lake, thru fourth grade. She finished her schooling at District 8 in Elk Township and an eighth grade graduation was held at the high school in Worthington in 1935. She and Ray Kilker were married on March 14, 1938 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After their marriage, they built a home in Worthington, Minnesota where they resided all of the entire 70 years of married life. During those years, Lenor spent time working at the local bowling alley and later Campbell Soup. She also cleaned homes for several local ladies in the area – some for over 30 years. Ray passed away at the age of 93 on September 13, 2008. Lenor remained in their home until she entered Doman Rose Assisted Living in Lakefield in February of 2011. She was admitted to Windom Hospital on February 22, 2014 and passed away there on February 26th. Lenor would have been 93 on March 1st.

      She enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband, children, and grandchildren as well as traveling, quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening and making special birthday cakes. Both Lenor and Ray loved spending time with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren sharing their talents among the family.

      Lenor is survived by her three children, Delores Janssen, Lakefield, MN, Kaleen (Burdell) Christians, Fulda, MN and Galen “Buzz” (Peggy) Kilker, Parker, CO; nine grandchildren, Lance (Laurie) Janssen, Spencer, IA, Dorean (Russ) Thom, Bingham, Lake, MN, Devin (Julie) Janssen, Rochester, MN, Sheila (Glenn) Crowley, Fulda, MN, Shirlene McBride, Fulda, MN, Sharlotte (Randy) Rindfleisch, Dundee, MN, Michelle (Mike) Kaunzner, St. Michaels, MN, Chastity (Jim) Greener, Fort Collins, CO, and Chase Kilker, Parker, CO; 23 great grandchildren; 8 great, great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty Taarud and Darlene Jungjohan; brother-in-law, Don Kilker; special friend, Don Rolph, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; sisters, Evelyn Gleason and Beverly Habben; brother, Roy Craun; son-in-law, Les Janssen; infant granddaughter, Genise Janssen, along with several brothers and sisters-in-law.

      Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the Worthington Christian Church, with Pastor Doug White officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery. Casket bearers include Aaron Crowley, Erik and Justin Jass, Lance Janssen, Russ Thom, and Chase Kilker. Lenor’s grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Worthington Christian Church.
