Obituary for Lawrence Eugene Stern

Round Lake, Minnesota     Lawrence Eugene Stern, 65, was born on October 25, 1940, in Taopi, Minnesota, the son of William and Eloise Gould Stern.  In 1946, the family moved to Round Lake, Minnesota.  Larry graduated from high school in 1958.  He then served four years in the United States Air Force and received his honorable discharge in September of 1962.  He then started trucking with his dad.  Larry married Judy Plantz on January 17, 1970, in Round Lake.  He was currently working for Bennett Trucking of Windom, Minnesota.  Larry died on August 31, 2006, in Lexington, Kentucky.     Larry is survived by his wife, Judy, of Round Lake, Minnesota; three children, Brent, Terry, and Tanya, all of Round Lake; four grandchildren; one sister, Carol Gowett, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one son, Michael, his parents, and one sister, Sharon.     Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Round Lake, Minnesota, with the Rev. Robert Barlett officiating.  Casket bearers will be David Drexler, Tom Drexler, Jerry Drexler, Roger Plantz, Rodney Plantz, and Larry Plantz.  Burial, with military rites, will be in the Round Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
