Obituary for Joseph Roscoe Davis

Round Lake, MN

     Joseph Roscoe Davis, 90, was born on April 24, 1921, in Greenbrier, AR, the son of Stephen and Minnie (Merriel) Davis. He worked in construction at the Bull Shoals Dam in Lakeview, AR. Joseph was married to Adella for a few years. He lived in Mountain Home, AR and then lived in Kansas City, MO, for several years. Joseph married Nellie Roberts on June 4, 1961, in Mountain Home, AR. In 1964, they moved to Worthington, MN, where he worked in Quality Control at Armour’s. Joseph was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp for several years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, birds, and other outdoor activities. Joseph died on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Sanford Medical Center in Worthington, MN.
     Joseph is survived by his wife, Nellie of Round Lake, MN; three daughters, Wanda Daniel of Enid, OK, Paula Olson (special friend, Kurt Wagley) of Rushmore, MN, and Sally Davis (fiancé, Troy Kunze) of Round Lake, MN; step daughter, Nadine (August) Froderman of Reading, MN; eight grandchildren, Von, Brent, Ronnie, Randy, Nick, Collin, Lori, and Peggy; seven great grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Nikki. He was preceded in death by his parents; eleven siblings; three sons, Walter, Ricky, and Ronald, and one grandson, Christopher.
     Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Ryan Radtke officiating. Casketbearers will be Randy Olson Jr., Ronnie Froderman, Collin Olson, Andrew Buntjer, Jacob Buntjer, and Troy Kunze. Honorary bearer will be Nick Olson. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
