Obituary for Henry Benjamin Bauman

Okabena, MN

     Henry Benjamin Bauman, 90, of Okabena, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his residence in Worthington, MN.
     Henry was born December 22, 1920 to John and Anna (Niggeling) Bauman. He graduated from Okabena High School in 1938. He served in the Army Air Force during WW II as a radio operator instructor and supply Sergeant. Henry married Eunice Schnieder on August 27, 1951. They farmed and raised eight children together in Ewington Township. Henry was a rural mail carrier until he retired in 1980.
     Henry is survived by his wife, eight children, Douglas (Deb Hogenson), Brewster, Catherine (Joe) Stoutenburgh of Hopkins, Carolyn (Larry) Kirchner of Westbrook, Jeanne (Randy) Gibson of Rochester, Martha (Todd) Kosovich of Little Falls, Leonard (Kathy) of Byron, Lloyd (Carolyn) of Owatonna and Bryce of Owatonna; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Matt Bauman and Ed Bauman, sisters, Louise Wagner and Agnes Kunerth.
     Henry was a charter member of the Okabena American Legion, a 4-H youth leader, an officer of the Rural Letter Carrier’s Association and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster.
     Henry enjoyed taking annual vacations with his family along with being an avid photographer. Henry’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 10:30 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster, MN, with Father Russell Scepaniak officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Brewster.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster, MN.

Memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice of Worthington.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
