Obituary for Helen Dorothy Ingvaldson

Worthington, Minnesota      Helen Dorothy (Rients) Ingvaldson, 90, was born on February 23, 1917, in Lakefield, Minnesota, the daughter of Ray and Anna Christy Wilson.  At the age of 5, her mother died and she lived with her paternal grandparents on a farm in Nobles County.  Helen married Henry Rients in 1935 and they lived on farms in Jackson County for 28 years.  She began working for Montgomery Wards in 1956 and continued to work for them for 17 years.  Henry died in 1963.  Helen moved to Worthington, Minnesota, where she lived until 1968, when she moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota.  In 1970, Helen married Everett Orville Ingvaldson and they lived in Geneva, Minnesota, until his death in 1984.  Helen then moved back to Worthington.  She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Worthington and the Hospital Auxiliary.  Helen died on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, Minnesota.     Helen is survived by three daughters, Dorothy (Cliff) Hamann, of Round Lake, Minnesota, Judy (Dennis) Selberg, of Worthington, Minnesota, and Arlene Schwarzenbach, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one son, Leland Rients, of Willmar, Minnesota; one daughter-in-law, Vickie Rients, of Taft, California; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Orville; one son, Richard; one sister, Doris Austin, and one son-in-law, Lyle Schwarzenbach.     Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with the Rev. Richard Ricker officiating.  Burial will be in the Rost Township Cemetery near Lakefield, Minnesota.Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, Minnesota.Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church Screen Project.
