Obituary for Helen Char Boyle

Worthington, MN

     Helen “Char” Boyle, 65, was born on November 18, 1945 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Gregory and Helen (Sweisberger) Boyle. She grew up in Jackson, NE, where she attended school. In 1964, she moved with her family to Worthington, MN. Char moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1968, where she had several jobs and then returned to Worthington in 1987. She worked as a cook at several restaurants in Worthington, most recently at the Blue Line. Char enjoyed playing bingo, going to coffee, watching football and baseball, riding bike, trips to the casino and playing the lottery. Char died on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington, MN.
     Char is survived by one brother, Eugene Boyle of Princeton, MN; two sisters, Diann (Pat) Lange of Adrian, MN and Carol Potter of Worthington, MN; aunt, Bertie Lou Boyle; uncle, John Prescott and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Roberta and nephew, Dustin Lange.
     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Father Jim Callahan officiating. Casket bearers will be Jeremy Potter, Travis Lange, Byron Clausen, Jason Mastbergen, Ridge Hennings and D.J. Folkers. Honorary bearers will be Melissa Potter, Bridget Mastbergen, Rebecca Clausen, Robin Folkers, Jennifer Newton and Heather Stapp. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and on Saturday, October 15, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington.
