Worthington, MN
 
     Hattie King, 75, was born on April 11, 1934, near Eckelson, ND, the daughter of John and Ann (DeVries) Dykstra.  She attended school in Greenland, ND, through 4th Grade.  When she was 10 years old the family moved to a farm near Svea, ND.  She attended school there until she was 16.  At the age of 19 she moved to Worthington, MN, where she had several jobs including housekeeping, Campbell Soup, and waitressing at the Windmill Café.  Hattie married James King on October 19, 1963 in Sioux Falls, SD.  She enjoyed having garage sales, reading the newspaper and magazines, cooking, and spending time with her family.  Hattie died on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the South Shore Care Center.
     Hattie is survived by her husband, James of Worthington, MN; two sons, Doug King of Moundsview, MN, and Troy (Barb) King of Round Lake, MN; one grandson, Matt King of Round Lake, MN; one brother, Selmer (Kathy) Dykstra of Litchville, ND, and three sisters, Joan (Stan) Hase of West Fargo, ND, Renee Feldman of St. Petersburg, FL, and Barb (George) Bauer of Gwinner, ND.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
     Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Mike Zaske officiating.  Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore, MN.
 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
