Obituary for Gregory John Eshleman

Worthington, Minnesota      Gregory John Eshleman, 65, was born on May 14, 1942, in Worthington, Minnesota, the son of Wilfrid and Gertrude Halfmann Eshleman.  He graduated from Worthington High School and attended Mankato Business College.  Gregory married Sheila Anne Hughes on September 19, 1970, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, being a member of the choir and the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed music, playing tuba in his younger years, playing piano, and singing.  Gregory died on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.     Gregory is survived by his wife, Sheila, of Worthington, Minnesota; one son, Anthony (Laura) Eshleman, of St. Cloud, Minnesota; one daughter, Janete (John) Zimmer, of Fridley, Minnesota; five grandchildren; his mother, Trudie Eshleman, of Worthington; one sister, Monica (Andy) Johnson, of Clintonville, Wisconsin; three brothers, Armand (Mary) Eshleman, of Worthington, Brian (Donna) Eshleman, of New Prague, Minnesota, and Ronald (Mary) Eshleman, of Stillwater, Minnesota, and one brother-in-law, Denis (Pat) Hughes, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.     Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with Father Larry Brixius officiating.  Burial of his cremains will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, Minnesota.
