Worthington, MN

     Gordon S. Johnson, 85, was born on March 25, 1925 in Clear Lake, WI, the son of Thomas and Edith (Vick) Johnson. He graduated from high school in Clear Lake and attended college in River Falls, WI. Gordon then graduated from American Academy of Horology (watchmaker) in Denver, CO. He joined the United States Navy in 1943. Gordon owned and operated the Johnson Jewelry Store in Ellsworth, WI. After selling his business, he became a sales representative for S.H. Clausen Wholesale Jewelers for twenty years. Gordon married Vivian Heig on October 11, 1991 in Luverne, MN. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the American Legion, Elk’s Lodge, VFW, US Navy League, Masonic Blue Lodge & Shrine, along with the Worthington Country Club. Gordon died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN.
     Gordon is survived by his wife, Vivian Heig of Worthington, MN; five children, Steven (Linda) Johnson of River Falls, WI, Rick (Theresa) Johnson of Clinton, IA, Bradley Johnson of Show Low, AZ, Jennifer Pray of Plover, WI, and Lynn Yaeger of Flippin, AR; three step children, Richard (Katherine) Heig of Worthington, MN, Deborah Page Heig of Ham Lake, MN, and Patricia (Don) Hartman of Golden Valley, MN; 6 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; 4 step great great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Friedl of River Falls, WI, and one brother, Dr. Kenneth Johnson of River Falls, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
     Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Richard Ricker officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Clear Lake, WI.

A time of gathering with family and friends will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington.
