Obituary for Gladys Elizabeth Zishka

Worthington, Minnesota

     Gladys Elizabeth Zishka, 79, was born on December 19, 1930, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Melvin and Elizabeth (Braun) Fields. Gladys married Carl Zishka on August 14, 1949, in Worthington. She worked for Campbell Soup Company for several years and was the owner of the Log Cabin Grocery Store. Gladys was of member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington. She enjoyed traveling overseas, wintering down South, and camping with her family. Gladys died on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN.
     Gladys is survived by three sons, William (Maureen) Zishka and their children, Gretchen and Eric of Owatonna, MN, Thomas Zishka and his son, Carl of Worthington, MN, and Robert (Mary) Zishka of Mason City, IA, and their children, Adam (fiancée, Sara Reimer) of Hillsboro, OR and Laura (Aaron Dodge) of Minneapolis, MN; one brother, Ray (Kathy) Fields of Worthington, MN; one sister, Karen (LeRoy) Coddington of Worthington, MN, and special friends, Del and Sharie Hoefker of Worthington, MN and their children, Darin and Jarud.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Myron Fields.
     Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Tom Braun officiating. Gladys’ children and grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
