Worthington, MN

Ethel A. Anderson, age 93, of Worthington passed away on May 24, 2016 at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home in Luverne, MN. Ethel was born on March 27, 1923 in Round Lake Township in Jackson County. She was the daughter of Osmund and Bessie (Ausham) Holm.
She was married to Dewey Anderson on August 31, 1946. They made their home in Worthington, MN and were active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.
Ethel grew up in Round Lake and attended high school in Round Lake. During the war, she worked at Nash Kelvinator and Johns Mansville in Kenosha, WI inspecting airplane parts. She also worked at Tempo and Montgomery Wards in Worthington. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She belonged to RSVP, the hospital auxiliary, and the VFW. She enjoyed many activities including writing letters and crafts and spending time with her family and friends.
Ethel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewey (Duke) of 66 years, 2 infants, her parents, her 3 brothers and 6 sisters, and daughter-in-law, Calena.
She is survived by her sons, Michael of Billings, MT and Timothy (Kristal) of Wayzata, MN; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Galen Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Westminster Presbyterian Women, Good Samaritan MJB Home activity fund, Sanford Luverne Hospice, or The Lupus Foundation.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
