Obituary for Elaine Elizabeth Rohrbauck

Elaine Elizabeth (Reder) Rohrbauck, age 83, was born on October 15, 1937, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Henry and Alvina Reder. The family moved to a farm outside of Lakefield, MN. Elaine attended and graduated from Lakefield High School in 1955. Elaine then attended Stewart Beauty School in Mankato and graduated in 1956.
Elaine married Dean Rohrbauck on August 1, 1957. After their marriage, they lived in Worthington where Elaine was a hairdresser in their home. In 1967, they moved to a small acreage outside of Brewster and made this their home.
Elaine and Dean had five children, Nancy, Niles, David, Brian, and Wayne. Mom was a homemaker and did gardening, canning, and home remodeling. She loved her flowers, planting trees, and mowing her lawn with the rider.
Elaine started to work outside the home once her children were entering high school. She had jobs at AT&T Phone, Lakeside Dairy, Fleet of Worthington, Northland Mall of Worthington, Coliseum Ballroom, housekeeper at Worthington Hospital, and Walmart.
Elaine was also owner of “The Store”, a consignment store in Brewster and owned and managed a five apartment building.
Elaine’s biggest joy was Star Trek. She was the biggest “Trekky” fan there was. Elaine was also very crafty, working with stain glass, wood carving, and crocheting. She also loved music of all kinds.
Elaine passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Elaine is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Howard) Buss of Hardwick, MN; three sons, Niles (Cheryl) of Spokane, WA, Brian (Deb) of Worthington, MN, and Wayne (Stephany) of Worthington, MN; seven grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Larry Scholl of Winnebago, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, son David, two brothers, Paul and Harvey, and sister Marianne Scholl.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Mark Schreiber officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brewster, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
