Rushmore, Minnesota
 
     Edward Clifford Sachen, 82, was born on July 21, 1926, in Rushmore, MN, the son of Edward and Barbara (Paul) Sachen.  He lived on a farm near Rushmore his entire life.  Edward was a lifetime resident of Nobles County and the Rushmore area.  He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rushmore, where he was baptized on December 3, 1930, and confirmed on June 21, 1942.  He served on various church boards.  Edward and his brother, Paul, were selected as honorary Senior Citizens of Rushmore in 2002.  Through the years, Edward enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and world-wide traveling.  He also enjoyed collecting mugs for over twenty-five years with his brother, Paul.  Their collection is over 2000 mugs.  Edward went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
     Edward is survived by three sisters, Lillie (Heinz) Obermoller, Emma (Donald) Feit, both of Worthington, MN, and Hazel (Ivar) Martinson, of Brewster, MN, and many nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and six sisters.
     Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rushmore, MN, with the Rev. David McDonald officiating.  Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
