Camilo Gonzales lll, 77, of Worthington, MN, passed away on December 19, 2020 from complications of Covid-19.
Born January 24, 1943 to Camilo Gonzales Jr. and Guadalupe Guerra Gonzales in Kingsville, TX. At an early age he started work on a ranch as a farm laborer, later learning mechanics and working at an auto shop. Despite having an elementary level education Camilo was a life-long learner, earning his diploma and several certificates, including ministry and Christian development, later in life. He married Lidia Gutierrez in 1960 and they had 5 children, Rene, Diana, Richard, Ralph and Delma. Camilo was a true Texan, even after moving to Minnesota to be closer to family in March of 2016, he loved his Dallas Cowboys and regularly wore his cowboy hat and boots. He loved attending Solid Rock Church and hardly ever missed an opportunity to volunteer with the Manna Food Pantry. He was active in his community, interpreting and lending a helping hand to neighbors with shoveling, mowing and general “fixing” as he loved to tinker.
Preceded in death by his parents, Camilo Gonzales Jr. and Guadalupe Guerra Gonzales, two sons, Ralph and Rene, and wife Lidia Gutierrez. He is survived by his children, Diana Vallego (Billy) Worthington MN, Richard Gonzales (Nancy) Blooming Prairie MN, Delma Gonzales Plainview Texas, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at the Solid Rock Church in Worthington, MN.
