Obituary for Bernadine Gieser

Worthington, MN

Bernadine “Betty” Gieser, 83, was born on April 6, 1931 in Woodstock, MN, the daughter of Anton and Tillie Thill.

Betty grew up in Worthington, MN and attended Worthington High School. Betty married Robert Gieser on October 22, 1949, in Worthington.

Betty was a self-employed house keeper for more than forty years. To the many families that Betty worked for she became more than just a house keeper. In most cases she became an extended part of their family. Betty always cherished the relationships that she developed with her extended families. Although not wealthy in a material sense, Betty was rich in friendships. Betty always felt that two of the most important things in life were your family and your friends. Betty’s biggest joys in life came from helping others.

Betty died on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Pathstone Living Nursing Home in Mankato, MN.

Betty and Robert had two children, Linda and Scott.

Betty is survived by her son, Scott (Cathi) Gieser of Mankato, one grandson, Nickolas Courrier of Mankato, sisters Catherine Metz and Anna White, both of Worthington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Linda, brother Thomas, and sisters Mary and Agnes.
