Obituary for Alyce Lily Lorraine Hellstrom

Worthington, Minnesota     Alyce Lily Lorraine Hellstrom, 82, was born on October 10, 1926, in Worthington, MN, the daughter of Clifford and Myrtle (Cederblade) Hollem. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1943 and from the University of Minnesota in 1947, with a Bachelor of Science Degree as a medical technologist. Alyce married Lars Hellstrom on February 20, 1951, at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington. She worked at the Worthington Regional Hospital and Clinic until the birth of her children. Alyce then worked with Lars on the farm until their retirement. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Worthington. They enjoyed spending the last 27 winters in Texas, Arizona, and Florida. Alyce died on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at her residence in rural Worthington.     Alyce is surivived by her husband, Lars of rural Worthington, MN; two children, Ramona (Jim) Marcovich of Fairmont, MN, and Kim (Nancy) Hellstrom of rural Worthington, MN, and three grandchildren, Sarah (Noah) Hoehn, Lance Hellstrom, and Derek Hellstrom (fiancée, Ashley Feller). She was preceded in death by her parents.     Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Richard Ricker officiating. Casket bearers will be Sarah and Noah Hoehn, Lance Hellstrom, and Derek Hellstrom. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington.
